Falcon Endpoint Protection Review

I purchased Falcon Endpoint Protection for a medium-sized client environment after a detailed comparison of several vendors. The ordering process involved a sales consultation, which was efficient enough; they were responsive to our specific needs regarding seat count and integration points. Deployment was largely seamless, the agent footprint is notably light, and we experienced no significant performance degradation on user machines. Falcon Insight EDR has provided good visibility into potential threats, and the reporting features are robust, allowing us to generate custom reports for compliance. Support has been knowledgeable when we've engaged them, though we haven't needed them extensively. Overall, it's a solid solution that delivered as promised.

Good protection, easy setup

I grabbed Falcon Prevent for my small business. I'm not super techy, but getting it installed was pretty straightforward. It just kinda runs in the background, which is nice. Didn't notice any slowdowns, and it seems to catch stuff okay. Happy with it.

Amazing Falcon Pro!

OMG, I just got Falcon Pro for my new startup and it's incredible! The dashboard is so clear, and I feel totally secure. It was so easy to get started. I'm telling everyone I know, this is the best protection out there! Will definitely be using Crowdstrike for everything!

Decent cloud protection

We went with Falcon Cloud Workload Protection after our trial. It integrated well with our existing AWS setup, which was a big plus. The threat detection seems pretty effective, and we've had fewer alerts from other systems since implementing it. My only slight critique would be that the initial setup documentation could be a bit clearer in some areas for less experienced cloud ops teams; it took a bit of digging to get everything perfect. Otherwise, the performance has been good and it's definitely improved our overall security posture.

Consistent service with Falcon Prevent

This is my third year with Falcon Prevent. I initially picked it because of its reputation, and it's never let me down. My previous subscription renewal was smooth, just like this one. It's reliable, doesn't get in the way, and I haven't had any major security incidents since I started using it. That consistency is why I keep coming back.

Good value for Falcon Go

I was looking for something affordable for my home office and found Falcon Go. The free trial let me check it out, which was cool. After that, the pricing was competitive for what it offers. Definitely felt like a smart purchase and I'm getting good protection without breaking the bank.

Heard about this product, sounds good. How does it stack up against Microsoft Defender for Endpoint? My company currently uses that.

J Jacob Allen 2 weeks ago
CrowdStrike is generally considered more advanced, especially with the AI and threat hunting. Defender is decent, but CS often catches things Defender misses. Had a colleague switch and they said the difference was noticeable.

S Sofia C. 2 weeks ago
It's a step up, for sure. Defender is okay for basic stuff but CrowdStrike's Falcon platform is pretty powerful for detecting more sophisticated threats. You'll likely see less false positives too, from what I hear.

Thinking of getting the Falcon Pro, but wondering if there are better deals around Black Friday or end-of-year?

J Jason B. 1 month ago
They definitely have promotional periods, especially around end of quarter or end of fiscal year. Black Friday and Cyber Monday can sometimes have deals too. Best to talk to a rep closer to those times.
2
T Tim 1 month ago
I've seen some enterprise discounts pop up around those times, mainly for new customers or larger contracts. For Falcon Pro, you might get a slightly better rate if you commit to a longer term during those periods.

My company is pretty small, like 15 people. Is Crowdstrike Falcon overkill, or do they have something for smaller teams?

S Susan Lewis 1 month ago
They have Falcon Go specifically for smaller businesses. It's supposed to be easier to manage and less complex than the full enterprise versions.

S Sean Nelson 1 month ago
We used it for a team of 20 for a while, seemed fine. Not sure if it's 'overkill' but it definitely covers a lot. You might want to compare with something like SentinelOne if you're worried about price for a smaller group.

How do payments work for the Falcon Go plan? Is it just credit card monthly or do they do invoicing?

S Steven 2 weeks ago
For Falcon Go, I'm pretty sure it's credit card based, usually monthly or annually. For larger plans they'll do invoicing though.
1
S Susan Moore 1 week ago
Yeah, if you're just getting Falcon Go, it's typically credit card. If you're a bigger company or getting more stuff, then they're more flexible with invoicing and terms.

Are long-term contracts required for Falcon Go, or can you do month-to-month?

K Kyle E. 3 weeks ago
For Falcon Go, I think you can do monthly, but annual usually gets you a better rate. For the bigger enterprise stuff, it's usually longer contracts.
3
J Josh Sanchez 2 weeks ago
From what I remember, you can go month-to-month on Falcon Go, but most people sign up for a year to save a bit. The flexibility is there though.

Is there usually a way to get a discount on the Falcon Endpoint Protection? Seems like it's all custom pricing.

E Eric King 1 month ago
Yeah, it's not like you find coupon codes floating around. You usually gotta talk to a sales rep. They're pretty good about working something out, especially if you're looking at a multi-year deal.

S Sean P. 1 month ago
I think they do free trials for some of the basic stuff, like the Falcon Go. But for the bigger packages, it's always been about getting a quote from them. Maybe try asking for a demo first?

Does using Crowdstrike slow down your computers much? Some security software can be a real hog.

E Ella Mitchell 2 weeks ago
Nah, it's pretty lightweight. I barely notice it running, and my work laptop isn't exactly a powerhouse. It's cloud-based so most of the heavy lifting happens elsewhere.

R Rachel Hernandez 2 weeks ago
Compared to some older antivirus stuff, it's really not bad. I didn't see any significant performance hit when we rolled it out. They designed it to be pretty efficient.

Do they offer any kind of trial for the Falcon Insight EDR? Or is it straight to sales talk?

J Jacob King 1 month ago
They usually have a 15-day free trial for some of their products, I'd check their site for Insight specifically. If not, they'll definitely offer a demo.
1
J Justin 1 month ago
I think the trials are more for the basic tiers like Falcon Go. For the more advanced modules, it's usually a demo first and then you talk to a sales rep about pricing. They're not going to just give away the full EDR for free for a long period.
